Workshops

Feed’em Freedom Foundation’s workshops are where learning meets liberation. Through hands-on experiences rooted in cultural tradition and sustainable practices, our events offer opportunities for community members of all ages to grow their skills, deepen their connection to the land, and take part in a food system that centers Black and BIPOC voices. From ancestral cooking classes to garden-based education and seasonal gatherings, each workshop is designed to inspire, empower, and build collective resilience. Explore our calendar to see what’s coming up and join us in the movement for food justice.

Join Our Agri-Exchange Volunteer Cohorts

Seasonal, Hands-On, and Rooted in Reciprocity

Feed’em Freedom invites you to nurture a living relationship with the land through our seasonal Agri-Exchange Volunteer Cohorts — 3-month commitments requiring just a couple of shifts per week (never exceeding 6 hours total). Whether you’re drawn to growing flowers, tending community plots, or exploring urban farming in our Freight Farm, this is your chance to learn by doing alongside our expert farmers and program directors. Cohorts will focus on Flowers to the Folks, Rockwood Village Community Farm, and Freight Farm. Sign-ups open during onboarding seasons in the months of March, June, September, and December as needed — we’re typically off during the winter months, so stay tuned for spring openings.

In exchange for your time and tending, you’ll receive fresh harvests and goods grown or made on-site, plus access to small-group educational sessions with our farm and program leads — covering everything from soil health to food justice to floral design. This is more than volunteering — it’s an exchange: your labor nourishes the land, and the land nourishes you. No prior experience needed — just curiosity, commitment, and a willingness to grow. Sign up when cohorts open, and let’s tend, learn, and harvest together.
